Kirk (31) was killed four days ago, while giving a speech at the Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University, Unilad writes.

After the murder, the FBI initially offered a reward of up to $100,000. The amount soon began to grow thanks to private donations. Alex Brusewitz, an adviser to Donald Trump, added $25,000, and conservative activist Robbie Starbuck pledged the same amount. A key contribution was made by billionaire Bill Ackman, who offered as much as million dollars.

After 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah was identified as the suspect and his family participated in his surrender, Ackman took to Twitter to clarify whether they were eligible for the reward.

"Several people have expressed concern that Tyler Robinson's father may receive a reward for turning in his son, which is thought-provoking," he wrote.

"I always keep my word"

"First, in order for rewards to be effective in finding criminals, they must be paid even if the recipient is a fraud or worse. However, in this case, if Tyler's father is found to have been involved or otherwise acted negligently in contributing to Charlie's death, a civil suit or criminal prosecution will nullify any unjust compensation," Ackman explained.

The billionaire added that he had heard that the family intends to waive the right to the award.

"So yes, we will pay a reward, if it's deserved, to whoever the FBI names as the person who provided the information that led to Tyler's arrest. I always keep my word," he concluded.

However, according to an earlier police report, it was not Robinson's father who contacted the authorities directly, but rather a family friend.

"On the evening of September 11, 2025, a family member of Tyler Robinson contacted a family friend, who contacted the Washington County Sheriff's Office with information that Robinson had admitted or implied to them that he had committed the incident," the report said.

That information was then forwarded to the appropriate investigators and the FBI.
