PNL MP Robert Sighiartău believes that Romania's reaction in the case of Russian drones must be firm:"From my point of view, at least in terms of reaction, the reaction must be prompt. I agree, I also listened to President Băsescu, that any drone that enters Romania, regardless of volume and regardless of mission, must be shot down on the spot, so that the reaction of the Romanian state and military capabilities is prompt and serious."

Defense Minister Ionuț Moșteanu said that the pilots had authorization to shoot down the drone that had entered national airspace without authorization, but decided not to open fire when they assessed the collateral risks.

Robert Sighiartău advocates for a clear reaction from the Romanian state:"Precisely to give Romanians confidence in military capabilities, especially since there was an agreement to shoot down drones, these drones had to be shot down. Now, of course, I don't want to go into the details of the procedures within the army, but it is clear that if such things happen again and there will certainly be more tests, so to speak, of verification and vigilance regarding the Romanian army, very clear measures must be taken, because even so, attempts are being made to discredit the Romanian army, this hybrid war affects state institutions and especially those of force, and then very clear answers are needed."
