Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Monday evening that Polish security services had neutralized a drone flying over government buildings.

Donald Tusk made the announcement on the X platform.

He said two foreigners were detained.

"A short time ago, the State Protection Service neutralized a drone flying over the government buildings (Parkowa) and Belweder. Two Belarusian citizens were detained. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident," Donald Tusk tweeted on X.

Romanian President Nicușor Dan reacted immediately after learning of the incident in Poland. He began by saying that"Romanians are safe.

"The most important security incident was with the 19 drones from a few days ago. Because it is proven that they came from the Russian Federation. So they are Russian and they deliberately flew over Polish territory. So, that is the most important thing, to which, again, NATO's reaction was very, very firm: the fact that, again, they were shot down by some of the Dutch forces that were collaborating with the Polish forces there over Polish territory, the fact that NATO met the next day, the fact that NATO said that it would strengthen air defense on the Eastern Flank means that there is determination among all our partners to defend, as the NATO Secretary General said, every centimeter of NATO territory," Nicușor Dan said on Antena 3 CNN.

Today's incident in Poland comes days after several Russian drones entered Polish airspace and were shot down. It was the first time a NATO country had neutralized Russian drones on its territory. At the time, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Poland was the closest it had come to entering an armed conflict since World War II. Warsaw also called for the invocation of NATO's Article 4 following last week's incident and said the country needed more solidarity.
