WASHINGTON, BRATISLAVA. The radio show of the American ultraconservative influencer, which was tuned in by millions of people daily, was hosted by US Vice President J.D. Vance after his death on Monday. He had a close relationship with Kirk.

He hosted the episode from his office at the White House. Vance said Kirk played a"critical role" in the re-election of Donald Trump as US president and was a "joyful fighter for America".

Kirk enjoyed debating with college students, and his campaign, particularly among young men, helped Trump return to the White House last year. He was also known for his homophobic, sexist and xenophobic views.

"We will pay tribute to his legacy and keep it alive forever," Vance added in the podcast. However, many of Trump's critics are worried about what may happen in the country now.

However, critics of the Trump administration fear that the US government may launch a full-scale war on free speech.

"Watch out. Something dark may be coming. The murder of Charlie Kirk could have united Americans to confront political violence. Instead, it appears Trump and his anti-democratic radicals are preparing a campaign to destroy dissent," Democratic Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut said on social media.

A crackdown on left-wing groups?

The shooter's motive and political beliefs, which remain unclear for now, should become more known after the indictment. However, conservatives led by Trump had a culprit even before his arrest - they almost immediately blamed the"radical left" for the assassination.

Vice President Vance recently said that the Trump administration plans to take action against them. According to him,"far-left" groups are increasingly tolerating violence.
