The Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday rejected Javier Milei's veto of the Garrahan Law, which declares a Pediatric Health Emergency and allocates more resources to the hospital. There were 181 votes in favor of the bill approved by Congress, 60 in support of the veto, and one abstention.

The debate in the chamber, which was held in conjunction with the debate on the veto of the university funding law, took place while a massive march"in defense of Education and Public Health" was taking place outside Congress.

The so-called Garrahan Law was approved on August 6 in the House of Representatives. That day, it received 159 votes in favor, 67 against, and 4 abstentions. In the Senate, it received 62 votes in favor and 8 against.

The initiative, which proposes the reallocation of funds and the use of reserves for health contingencies, has four key aspects: more money for hospitals, better salaries, tax relief, and faster procurement. Following the veto in the House of Representatives, the original bill must now be approved by the Senate.
