Sources reported that on Saturday, Russian Railways employees found mines on the Maloarkhangelsk-Glazunovka railway line and called in engineers from the Russian National Guard's special forces. However, the demining operation was unsuccessful, and two Russian National Guard soldiers were killed and one was injured.
The explosion halted federal railway traffic, delaying more than 15 trains in both directions, reports"Ukrainska Pravda".
Another attack occurred on Sunday night at the Stroganovo-Mshinsky railway crossing on the St. Petersburg-Pskov railway line. The explosion derailed a locomotive and destroyed 15 fuel tanks.
"Ukrainian Pravda" sources emphasized that these railway lines are important logistical connections for supplying Russian troops in the direction of Kharkiv and Sumy.
"As a result of the destruction of the railway infrastructure at these stages, the Russians will face significant logistical difficulties, which in turn will significantly affect their ability to conduct active operations against the Ukrainian defense forces," the sources said.
