President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported how much money Ukraine will lack if the war continues in 2026.
As an UNIAN correspondent reports, Zelenskyy said this during a joint briefing with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola in Kyiv.
"During the war, the cost of this war, for example, today, and what a challenge we have - the price for one year is $120 billion," Zelenskyy noted.
According to him, half of this amount ($60 billion) comes from the Ukrainian budget.
At the same time, as the president emphasized,"I have to find another 60 billion UAH next year."
"I hope that we will end this war, but in any case, plan A is to end it. Plan B is 120 billion. So, this is a big challenge," Zelenskyy stressed.
He clarified that he is not saying that these funds, such a large sum, will be needed in peacetime, for example, in the conditions of a ceasefire or the operation of reliable security guarantees in the first 10 years.
War in Ukraine: news
As UNIAN reported, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Gnatov, claims that Ukraine spends in one day about $172 million (7 billion UAH) for the war.
Previously, former Morgan Stanley and Bank of America financier Craig Kennedy stated that Russia spends twice as much on war against Ukraine than her defense spending included in the federal budget If the war drags on for some more time, this scheme will collapse and the Kremlin will not be able to pay for the needs of the army.
