The Israel Defense Forces said Sunday evening that Iran had fired another round of missiles."Defense systems are working to intercept the threat," the army said.
The communique appealed to Israelis to go to shelters upon receiving the warning and remain there until further notice."Leaving the protected area will only be possible after receiving clear instructions," it added.
Iran Strikes Israel. Explosions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem
Shortly afterwards, the first reports of explosions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem appeared. Alarm sirens were also heard in the cities.
The Times of Israel reported that emergency services were heading to the site where the projectile reportedly landed. However, there was no information about any injuries.
There was also a possible explosion near Haifa, which was recorded by a Reuters camera. The footage shows clouds of smoke rising from the object.
