Zelensky said Ukraine is determined to continue cooperation with the US side to achieve a lasting and just peace. The talks followed two days of talks between Witkoff, Kushner and Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov in Miami about ending the war.

"We covered many aspects and reviewed key points that could ensure the cessation of bloodshed and the elimination of the threat of a new large-scale Russian invasion, as well as the risk that Russia will not honor its promises, as has repeatedly happened in the past," Zelensky said on X.

The Ukrainian president added:"Ukraine is determined to continue to work in good faith with the American side to truly achieve peace. We have agreed on the next steps and formats of talks with the United States. I thank President Trump for such an intensive approach to the negotiations."

US envoy Witkoff was due to brief Umerov on his meeting in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelenskiy said he was expecting a detailed report from Umerov in Kiev and stressed that"not everything can be discussed over the phone."
