Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated this on Sunday, AFP reports, Ukrinform reports.
"The Iranian regime needs to wake up and say, 'Okay, if we really want to have nuclear energy in our country, there's a way to do it.' That proposal is still valid, we're ready to talk to them tomorrow," Rubio said.
He added that the Iranians themselves must make the decision.
It's a very simple solution: If they want nuclear reactors to have electricity – there are so many other countries in the world that do that, and they don't have to enrich their own uranium – they can do that,” Rubio added.
He also said that the US currently has no planned military operations against Iran, quoted by The Guardian. He added that the United States does not seek war with Iran.
Commenting on Iran's statement that there was no uranium in the nuclear facilities attacked by the US, Rubio said that no one will know for several more days whether Iran has actually moved some of its nuclear materials.
Rubio also added that regime change in Iran is not a US goal.
As Ukrinform reported, the deputy head of Iran's state television and radio company, Hassan Abedini, stated that Tehran had evacuated three nuclear facilities on the eve of a strike on them by the United States.
