At least 36 people have died in Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic as a result of Hurricane Melissa, NBC News reported.
At least seven people have died in Jamaica, the Jamaica Information Service and police said.
In Haiti, the Civil Protection Service confirmed the death of three people, and another 25 died due to massive flooding in coastal areas.

A man died in the Dominican Republic after attempting to clear a drain during heavy rainfall while being hurricane-damaged, said Julián García, deputy director of the country's emergency management agency.
On October 29, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel reported that more than 700,000 people had been evacuated from the island. The National Hurricane Center in Miami recorded wind speeds of up to 205 km/h (125 mph) at the epicenter.
