European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen commented on the conditions for peace in Ukraine, compiled in 28 points by the United States. She published on the social network X, in which she summarized the European position.

The future of Ukrainian children

She called for the"central" role of the European Union to be "fully recognized." She demanded that any agreement allow for the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.

Ursula von der Leyen announced a new summit with Ukraine and Canada dedicated to the fate of these children.

"In addition to the elements necessary for a just and lasting peace and the sovereignty of Ukraine: any agreement must include the return of the Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. We will not rest until every one of them is reunited with their families, in their homes," Von der Leyen said.

European integration of Ukraine

According to her, the plan should include the country's recovery, its integration into the EU single market, and ultimately its full membership in the bloc.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has until November 27 to respond to Donald Trump's proposal on the 28 points of the peace plan.

A meeting of European Union leaders will be held in Geneva on Monday, November 24, at the invitation of European Council President Antonio Costa.

"The American draft 28-point plan includes important elements that will be crucial for a just and lasting peace. We are ready to join the work to ensure sustainable peace in the future," Costa noted.
