The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in partnership with the global sports brand PUMA, has unveiled the official ball for the Africa Cup of Nations which will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
Named ITRI, this ball draws inspiration from the ancient art of Moroccan zellige, renowned for its refined geometric mosaics. It embodies both the unity and passion that drive African football across the continent. The name ITRI, meaning star in Amazigh, echoes the star on the Moroccan flag and the star-like patterns characteristic of the zellige tradition.
In a video broadcast on CAF's networks, Couhaib Driouech, a Moroccan winger for PSV, appears with the ball at his feet in the alleys of Rabat, before joining the Oudayas.
The player strolls around with the ball at his feet while, around him, young enthusiasts, including a Moroccan content creator dedicated to football, indulge in some passes and technical moves.
A simple, lively scene, rooted in everyday life, which recalls the popular dimension of football in Morocco, football which is played in the street, between the walls of the medina, as close as possible to the public.
