Mashhad/Berlin – Severe blow against the mullah regime!

The Israeli Air Force carried out its deepest strike to date inside Iran on Saturday evening.

▶︎ The Israeli military confirmed that it bombed an Iranian tanker plane at Mashhad Airport in northeastern Iran, about 2,300 kilometers from Israel. This marks the"farthest attack since the start of the operation."

"The Air Force is working to achieve air supremacy over all of Iran," the army added. It is not yet known how successful the airstrike was.

Iranian media also reported an attack on Mashhad. The Fars news agency reported that explosions and fires had occurred at two locations in Mashhad. Air defenses had been activated in the area.

In Mashhad is the shrine of Imam Reza, one of the holiest sites of Shiite Muslims and an important place of pilgrimage.

The attack on Mashhad Airport may be the Israeli Air Force's (IAF) furthest-reaching strike to date. In 1985, the Israeli Air Force attacked the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Tunisia—also over 2,000 kilometers from Israel.

Israel: Do not want to bring about regime change

The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), Eyal Zamir, had previously stated:"The IDF, through its air power, has completely paved the way to Tehran and is precisely and comprehensively attacking the regime's infrastructure and its nuclear program in a way the enemy never imagined."

"The offensive measures we are taking in Iran are changing the strategic reality of the State of Israel. We are eliminating an existential threat and consolidating our security," Zamir said.

▶︎ However, the goal is not to bring about regime change, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar emphasized on Sunday."The goal is not regime change. That is a decision for the Iranian people. We, Israel... do not see the Iranian people as our enemies," the minister said.

On Friday morning, Israel launched a major attack on Iranian nuclear facilities and military infrastructure. Iran responded with volleys of ballistic missiles against Israeli cities – most recently on Sunday afternoon.
