The plane of dictator Vladimir Putin to Budapest will be accompanied by Turkish and Russian fighters. As it says Air Live, the Russian president's plane will most likely fly over the Caspian Sea, Iran, Turkey, the Mediterranean Sea, Montenegro, Serbia, and Hungary.
The publication recalled that due to ongoing EU sanctions and airspace restrictions against the Russian Federation after its invasion of Ukraine, Russian government aircraft, including the presidential Il-96, cannot fly over most of Europe.
"This means that Putin's route to Hungary must bypass the vast majority of EU member states, even though Hungary itself is part of the bloc," the material noted.
The modified flight route could be around 5,000 km and would increase flight time by three hours compared to the direct route of 1,500 km.
"While the Russian presidential plane is fully capable of long-haul flights, the extended route will require careful coordination with Turkish and Serbian air traffic control services, as well as potential contingency plans for weather or diplomatic complications," Air Live emphasized.
According to security experts, flying over the Black Sea still poses operational risks, especially given the military activity in the region.
"Putin's trip to Budapest highlights how geopolitical isolation continues to change even the logistics of diplomacy. While Hungary offers a rare opportunity for a face-to-face meeting with Trump in the EU, flying there is by no means easy. No official flight plan has been released yet, but the Turkish-Serbian corridor appears to be the most practical route for the Russian president to arrive in Hungary," the publication believes.

At the same time, US President Donald Trump himself stated that the meeting in Hungary will be bilateral He noted that the President of Ukraine may connect to the communication in a different format.
"But we will maintain contact with President Zelensky. There is a lot of hostility between the two presidents. This is a very difficult situation," the American leader said.
