Tomahawk Missiles Discussion

Hegseth's Tie Controversy

Axios noted that Zelensky had hoped to leave Washington with promises of new weapons, but Trump appeared to be in a different mood a day after a long phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. According to the portal's sources, Trump has made it clear that his priority is diplomacy at the moment and believes that providing the Tomahawks could undermine it.

One source said the meeting was"not easy," while another called it "bad." "Nobody was yelling, but Trump was tough," Axios quoted one of the sources as saying. Axios added that the meeting ended abruptly after 2.5 hours."I think we're done. We'll see what happens next week," Trump said, referring to the planned U.S.-Russia talks.

Zelenskyy said at the briefing that the Ukrainian and American sides have decided not to talk publicly about the long-range missiles for now, adding that the United States does not want an escalation."The Russians are afraid of the Tomahawks," he noted.
