Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said that the necessary prerequisites are being created for a major export agreement between the two countries to provide Ukraine with Gripen fighters.
As an Ukrinform correspondent reports, he said this after signing a letter of intent with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on cooperation in the development of air capabilities.
“This letter of intent on cooperation in the field of air capabilities creates the necessary preconditions for a major export agreement for Gripen fighters between our two countries. If we succeed, it will help increase security in our part of the world and strengthen Ukraine and Sweden. We fully understand that there is still a long way to go. But from today we are committed to considering all options to provide Ukraine with a large number of Gripen fighters in the future,” said Kristersson.
According to him, we are talking about about 100-150 Gripen E-series fighters, which are now starting to be produced.
