President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy categorically against any territorial concessions by Russia. He said this on October 23 in Brussels before the European Council summit.
"No territorial concessions," the head of state said briefly during a conversation with journalists.
Zelensky also expressed the opinion that a ceasefire in Ukraine is possible, but, according to him, more pressure is needed on Russia.
"A ceasefire is possible. I think each of us wants a ceasefire. But more pressure is needed on Russia. We are ready for ceasefire negotiations. We are ready for any format. But the content of the negotiations is important - we need a just and lasting peace," the President of Ukraine said.
Other statements by the President of Ukraine
As UNIAN previously reported, Zelenskyy responded to US and EU sanctions against the Russian Federation. According to him, this is an important signal for both Russia and other countries of the world. He emphasized that the decision of US President Donald Trump is"exactly what we have been waiting for." "God willing, it will work," the president expressed hope.
On the eve, Zelensky assured that Ukraine is ready for diplomacy , but"not under the condition that we have to go somewhere, giving the aggressor our land, our territories." "Of course, it's not about kilometers. And the question is certainly about our homes, about our people, about our history, identity. This is our territorial integrity," Zelensky emphasized and added that he spoke about this to Trump, but the question is that Russia is not ready for diplomacy.
