The Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan will witness an anticipated match between the Moroccan and Omani national teams tomorrow, Friday, in the second round of Group B of the Arab Cup football tournament currently being held in Qatar.

The Moroccan national team opened its campaign in the tournament with a 3-1 victory over the Comoros national team; while the Omani “Red” team lost to its Saudi counterpart by a score of 1-2 in the same round.

Coach Tariq Sektioui's men are looking to confirm the Moroccan national team's qualification for the quarter-finals when they face Oman, especially since the team has three points in its tally.

The Moroccan national team's goal will be to achieve victory and secure qualification for the next round, regardless of what might happen in the match against Saudi Arabia, the third team in the group.

The Moroccan national team shone in the match against Comoros, scoring three goals in one half, courtesy of Soufiane Bouftini, defender of Al Wasl of the UAE, Tariq Tissoudali, player of Khorfakkan of the UAE, and Karim El Berkaoui, striker of Al Dhafra of the UAE.

In addition to those mentioned, there are several other important players in the Moroccan national team's lineup for the tournament, including Walid El Karti, the star midfielder of Egyptian club Pyramids FC, the African Champions League winners, and the prolific striker Abderrazak Hamdallah, the star of Saudi club Al Shabab.

On the other hand, the Omani national team enters the match with the aim of making up for their loss in the first round against Saudi Arabia.

Although the men of Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz performed well against Saudi Arabia and equalized in the last twenty minutes, the Red team surrendered to the Saudi team, which succeeded in achieving victory over its opponent by two goals to one.

The Omani team performed well in the match and was a strong opponent for the Saudi team, which won the match in its favor; however, that was not enough to snatch the three points, and the team will be required to achieve victory over Morocco to maintain its hopes of reaching the next round.

The Omani “Red” team relies on the experience of star midfielder Harib Al-Saadi, a player for Al-Nahda team in the Omani league, along with captain Ali Al-Busaidi, a player for Al-Seeb team; he is the captain of the Omani national team that bid farewell to the World Cup dream, following the loss in the fourth round of the tournament qualifiers in the Asian continent.

The Omani national team finished fourth in its group in the third round of the World Cup qualifiers, qualifying for the fourth round where it was drawn against the Qatari and Emirati national teams. It had drawn with Qatar and lost to the Emiratis, thus losing its chances of qualifying for the World Cup or the play-offs.

The"Red" team, led by Queiroz, knows that the match against Morocco will be decisive for the team's journey in the competition, especially since the defeat against Saudi Arabia made the task more difficult in a fierce and strong group in the Arab Cup in Doha.

However, a draw might also preserve some slim hopes of reaching the next round, especially since the team will play Comoros in the final match, a team that lost 3-0 to Morocco, a scoreline that could have been even worse despite a better performance in the second half. Meanwhile, Morocco will face Saudi Arabia in a highly anticipated Arab derby. Both matches will take place on December 7th.
