Both countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan, will make sincere efforts, through dialogue, to find a positive solution to a complex but solvable issue, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, reports Reuters.

The spokesman of the Afghan administration stated that at the request of the Pakistani side, a ceasefire between the two countries will come into effect after 5:30 p.m. He said that Afghanistan ordered its forces to respect the ceasefire, on the condition that the other side does not commit aggression.

fighting along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan killed 23 Pakistani soldiers, while the Afghan side says it killed 58 Pakistani soldiers in retaliation for what it called repeated violations of Afghan territory and airspace.

According to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, Afghan forces captured military positions and seized weapons, including tanks, while Pakistan announced that it repelled attacks by Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), inflicting heavy losses on opposing forces.

More than 10 civilians were killed and more than 100 were wounded as mortar shells fell near Pakistani villages and families were forced to evacuate. Pakistan accuses the Taliban government in Kabul of harboring the TTP, which has carried out numerous attacks inside Pakistan, while Kabul denies these claims.
