"The Distrigaz Sud Rețele intervention agent, who arrived on the scene on the morning of October 17 following the call from the Emergency Call Center, found that the seal applied, following the intervention on October 16, had been broken due to an unauthorized intervention. We would like to point out that the connection valve on which the seal was applied after closing was not affected by the explosion, being, moreover, protected by a niche," the press release states.
In accordance with the legislation in force, Distrigaz Sud Rețele is obliged to make the building safe by interrupting the natural gas supply, until the defects are remedied by a company authorized by ANRE, the company says.
Distrigaz Sud Rețele mentions that the customer has the following obligations:
- to maintain and operate the natural gas utilization facility in safe conditions
- to ensure the performance of periodic technical checks and inspections of the natural gas utilization facility
- to ensure the remediation of faults in the operation of the utilization facility, only through economic operators authorized by ANRE
- to use exclusively gas fuel consuming appliances that comply with the requirements of the legislation in force and to carry out their verification and repair, through economic operators authorized by authorized bodies
In order for Distrigaz Sud Rețele to resume the supply of natural gas to affected customers, the following conditions must be met:
- contracting, by customers, an economic operator authorized by A.N.R.E. to remedy the defects and perform the technical inspection of the internal installation of use
- sending to Distrigaz Sud Rețele the supporting documents drawn up by the respective economic operator
- "Distrigaz Sud Rețele collaborates with the investigative bodies by making available all the information requested by them"
The explosion that occurred on Friday morning at a block of flats in Rahova, caused significant damage, rendering several apartments unusable and residents evacuated. The investigation into the causes of the incident is ongoing.
