"A growing scandal is rocking Volodymyr Zelensky's government in Kyiv," reports the influential publication Politico.

Indeed, in recent days, the attention of the Ukrainian public and media has shifted from events at the front to the corruption scandal in Kyiv.

On Wednesday, it became clear that there are already the first"victims" of this scandal - Ukrainian Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko has been removed from office due to a large-scale corruption investigation in the country's energy sector.

The move comes as anti-corruption agencies intensify their investigation into what they describe as a large-scale $100 million bribery and money laundering scheme involving senior energy officials.

Ukrainian authorities have charged seven people in the case. Journalists have reported that the names of Zelensky's business partner Timur Mindich, former adviser to Energy Minister Ihor Mironiuk, and Dmytro Basov, executive security director of Energoatom, can be found in the case. Suspicions have also been brought against businessmen Oleksandr Tsukerman, Ihor Fursenko, Lesia Ustimenko, and Lyudmila Zorina.
