Trump's Peace Plan and Initial Reactions

According to the European Peace Plan, there should be no restrictions on the contingent of Ukrainian forces (currently about 850,000 troops serve in the Ukrainian forces). It is worth noting that the US plan, developed jointly with Russia, includes a clause that envisages reducing the number of Ukrainian troops to 600,000.

Another point in Trump's plan prohibits the presence of foreign forces on Ukrainian territory. The European plan, however, does not include such a ban: Ukraine can independently decide on the presence of friendly forces on its territory, the counterproposal states.

The European plan calls on NATO members to decide for themselves who can join the Alliance, which contradicts the ban on Ukraine from applying for membership, which is included in the US plan.

Finally, one point of the European plan calls for a complete cessation of hostilities before any negotiations on the transfer of territories.
