Qatar claims that its air defenses successfully intercepted a missile attack on a US base.
Qatar's foreign ministry said the strike caused no casualties, Reuters reported. Qatar condemned the Iranian attack as a clear violation of its sovereignty.
"Qatar's air defenses successfully intercepted a missile strike on Al-Udeid base," the Qatari Defense Ministry said. Qatar called the missile attack from Iran a clear violation of its sovereignty and international law.
The New York Times reported, citing three unnamed Iranian sources, that Tehran informed Qatari officials about the strike in advance.
Al-Udeid Air Base, located in the desert southwest of the Qatari capital Doha, is the largest US military base in the Middle East, with approximately 10,000 troops. The base is also the headquarters of the US military's regional command, CENTCOM.
According to an AP source, Iran also attacked a US military base in Iraq with missiles. (ČTK)

Serbian President Vučić announced that the export of Serbian ammunition has been stopped and the ammunition is going to Serbian stockpiles.
The news was reported by the Tanjug agency.
Vučić made the statement in response to a question about the ammunition trade with Israel and Serbia's neutrality in the ongoing Israeli-Iranian conflict. He noted that he would explain the situation to the presidents of Iran and Israel, Masoud Pezeshkian and Yitzhak Herzog.
The export of ammunition is also controversial in Serbia in relation to Russia, whose Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) in May accused the Serbian arms industry of"shooting Russia in the back" by exporting ammunition to Ukraine through intermediaries.
As reported by Radio Sloboda (RFE/RL), the SVR again sharply criticized Serbia on Monday - for the second time in a month - and accused it of supplying weapons to Ukraine.
A statement from the SVR press office published on Monday ironically states that"the Ukrainian military is very grateful to Serbian arms and ammunition manufacturers for their contribution to maintaining the combat readiness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces."
The SVR statement indicates that these are indirect supplies: Serbian military enterprises allegedly send components for the production of ammunition to third countries, primarily the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, but the cartridges themselves are produced outside Serbia.
The SVR claims that the manufacturers of these components in Serbia"are well aware of the real consumers of their products and the fact that their missiles and shells will kill Russian soldiers and residents of Russian cities and towns."
In its statement, the SVR calls it"regrettable that the traditions of friendship and mutual assistance (between Russia and Serbia) are intersected by the hunger for profit and cowardly multivectorism."
Vučić recently stated that the information about arms supplies from Serbia to Ukraine is not entirely true. Russia and Serbia have created a working group to determine the real situation. (TASR)

Oil companies have evacuated some employees from southern Iraq due to tensions in the region.
Iraq's state-owned oil company Basra Oil Company said it was aware of the incident, but added that production in Basra province, which produces most of Iraq's oil, was not affected.
Italian company ENI"gradually reduced its workforce from 260 to 98" and French company Total Energies "evacuated 60 percent of its employees". Since the start of the Iran-Israel war, there have been growing concerns that the violence could spread to Iraq, where US troops are present and several local armed groups support Iran.

Allies within the alliance have long agreed that Iran must not obtain a nuclear weapon, said NATO chief Rutte.
However, he said the biggest threat the Alliance currently faces is Russia. He made the remarks ahead of the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague and after the weekend's US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
This is reported by the AFP agency.
The US, on the orders of Trump, attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities - Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan - on Sunday night, thereby directly engaging in the conflict between Israel and Iran. Washington claims that it managed to cause serious damage to the three mentioned facilities and thereby destroy Iran's nuclear program. However, the exact extent of the damage is not known even by the International Atomic Energy Agency, its head Rafael Grossi said on Monday.
Rutte told a news conference in The Hague that he disagreed with claims that the US strikes on Iran were in violation of international law, while rejecting suggestions that the conflict in the Middle East would distract from a summit of heads of state and government of the 32 NATO member states, which will take place from Tuesday to Wednesday.
"Allies have repeatedly called on Iran to fulfill its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)," the NATO chief said.
At the same time, he noted that Iran is"heavily involved" in Russia's war against Ukraine."Iranian drones are killing innocent Ukrainians every day in cities, in their communities, without any respect for life," he added.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi traveled to Moscow after the US strikes, where he met with Putin on Monday. Araqchi described the meeting as good and said they discussed developments in the Middle East in detail, RIA Novosti reported. Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov added that the talks focused primarily on steering the situation in the region towards a peaceful solution.
The direct US involvement in the Israeli-Iranian conflict comes after more than a week of Israeli attacks on Iran, which it launched on June 13. Israel has justified them by seeking to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Tehran has since retaliated against Israel, while denying that it is seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.
"Let's focus on the essentials. My biggest fear would be that Iran would possess a nuclear weapon and be able to use and deploy it to build pressure on Israel, the entire region and other parts of the world," Rutte added, according to AFP. (TASR)

Trump thinks Iranians should overthrow their government if it refuses to negotiate over its nuclear program, the White House said.
According to White House spokeswoman Leavitt, the US president remains interested in diplomacy, writes the AFP agency.
"If the Iranian regime refuses to engage in a peaceful diplomatic solution, which the president remains interested in and committed to, why shouldn't the Iranian people take power away from this incredibly violent regime that has oppressed them for decades?" a White House spokeswoman told Fox News.
US bombers attacked nuclear facilities in Iran with special bombs over the weekend. Israel has also been carrying out airstrikes on Iran for the 11th day with the declared aim of destroying its nuclear program.
Senior US officials have repeatedly said that the United States' goal is not regime change in Iran, according to AFP. However, Trump suggested on Sunday on his Truth Social network that it is.
"It is not politically correct to use the term regime change, but if the current Iranian regime cannot MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why can't regime change come?" Trump wrote. He also added the acronym MIGA (Make Iran Great Again). (TASR)

German Chancellor Merz sees no reason why he should criticize Israel and the US for attacking Iran and its nuclear facilities.
He made the remarks in a speech at an economic conference in Berlin. According to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the US and Israel have averted a major threat with the attack. Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul called for a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
"For us and for me personally, there is no reason to criticize what Israel started a week ago or what America did last weekend," Merz said. According to him, these steps are not without risk."But leaving it as it was was also not possible," the chancellor added in a speech at the German Industry Day.
According to Defense Minister Pistorius, military escalation is never good, but the destruction of Iran's nuclear facilities is good news."The decisive thing at this moment is that a major threat has been removed," Pistorius told ZDF."And that is good news for the Middle East, but also for Europe," he added.
If what the United States and Israel claim is true, Iran has made significant progress in developing a nuclear bomb, according to the German Defense Minister.
When asked about the compliance of the attack on Iran with international law, Pistorius replied that Israel has the right to self-defense and that the Americans have taken responsibility for the Middle East region. (ČTK)

Israel struck Tehran's Evin prison in its attacks on Iran and damaged parts of the facility, Iranian authorities have confirmed.
The Israeli military says it also struck command centers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and other security forces in the country, AFP reports.
“In the latest attack by the Zionist regime on Tehran, projectiles unfortunately hit Evin prison, damaging parts of the facility,” the judicial news portal Mizan Online reported, adding that the situation in the area remained “under control.”
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz also confirmed the attack."(The army) is carrying out strikes of unprecedented force against regime targets and agencies of government repression in central Tehran. Among the targets... (is) Evin prison," Katz said on Platform X. He said the prison is housing political prisoners and dissidents.
Iranian news agency Noor News reported that"relatives of those convicted in Evin prison should know that (their loved ones) are safe." The fortified prison also houses dual nationals and Western citizens, whom the Iranian regime uses in negotiations with the West. The facility has been sanctioned by the United States and the European Union. ToI reports that the attack was apparently aimed at allowing prisoners to escape."Long live freedom," Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar wrote in Spanish on the social network X. However, it is believed that only the prison gate was hit, ToI notes.
The sister of Frenchwoman Cécile Kohler, who is being held in Evin, described the Israeli attack as irresponsible, according to AFP."It puts our loved ones in mortal danger," said Noemie Kohler."We have no news, we don't know if they are alive, we are panicking," she added. Cécile Kohler is also in prison with her partner Jacques Paris. They have been held in Iran since May 2022.
Israel on Monday claimed responsibility for attacks on bodies responsible for “maintaining regime stability” in Iran. “These forces consist of various corps and command centers and are responsible on behalf of the Iranian regime’s military for defending internal security, suppressing threats and maintaining regime stability,” the Israeli military said.
Tel Aviv said its military had struck roads around Iran's underground Fordo uranium enrichment plant, aiming to prevent access to the facility, the AP reported. (TASR)

Hungarian Minister of Economic Development warns of the impact of tensions between Israel and Iran on Europe.
Márton Nagy identified three main areas in which the escalation of the Middle East conflict could have consequences for Europe, reports a TASR correspondent in Budapest.
The minister mentioned risks to energy security, threats to global trade routes, and another wave of migration.
"A fifth of the world's oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz near Iran, so its possible closure or restriction of traffic could lead to a drastic increase in energy prices and disruption of supplies," Nagy wrote.
The second area of impact of the escalating conflict could be disruption to maritime trade. The impact on trade routes between Asia and Europe could lead to disruption of supply chains, higher transport costs and further inflationary pressures, he said.
The third main risk is the increase in migratory pressure. In the opinion of the Hungarian minister, the deepening of the Israeli-Iranian conflict could destabilize the Middle East, which could trigger another wave of migration towards Europe. At the same time, the risk of terrorist threats could also increase, Nagy added.

Israeli strikes in Iran have killed at least 950 people, according to the human rights group Human Rights Activists.
Another 3,450 people were injured, according to the latest findings from the Washington-based human rights group Human Rights Activists.
This is reported by the AP agency.
The group said at least 380 of the total deaths were civilians and 253 were security forces. The Iranian attacks in Israel have killed at least 24 people and injured more than 1,000, according to the group.
Human Rights Activists has provided detailed information on the number of victims during the protests that followed the death of Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini in 2022. It draws its data from official sources and from the information network it has built in the country.
Iranian authorities do not routinely release death tolls during the conflict, but the latest official figures from the local health ministry on Saturday put the number of people killed in the attacks at around 400 and 3,056 injured.
Israel launched a wave of attacks across Iran on June 13, ostensibly to prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. Iran denies the accusation and has responded to the Israeli attacks with retaliatory strikes. The United States also attacked targets in Iran early Sunday. (TASR)

Putin called the American strikes"unjustified" and announced his willingness to help Iran and its people.
The Kremlin chief received Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Moscow and they will discuss the conflict.
This was reported by AFP and TASS.
"There has been a new escalation of tensions in the region, and we, of course, condemn it and express deep regret in this regard," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. He added that while Putin and Trump had also discussed the Iran-Israel conflict during recent talks, Washington had never informed Moscow of its intentions to attack Iran.
According to Peskov, Russia insists that every country has the right to develop its civilian nuclear industry.
“This is an absolutely unprovoked aggression against Iran,” Putin said, adding that Russia “is trying to provide assistance to the Iranian people.” “We have long-standing, good and reliable relations with Iran,” the Russian president stressed.
Putin also spoke by phone with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudanese about the situation in the Middle East. The two leaders"expressed concern about emerging risks on global energy markets and stressed the importance of continuing active cooperation within the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)."

Iran's Fordo nuclear facility is apparently very destroyed, no one knows the extent of the damage, the head of the atomic agency said.
Grossi made the remarks at an emergency meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency's Board of Governors. He added, however, that no one, not even the IAEA, knows the exact extent of the damage at Ford. He also called on all parties to the conflict to return to negotiations.
The facility, along with two other Iranian nuclear facilities, was bombed by the United States over the weekend.
"Given the extreme sensitivity of centrifuges to vibrations, it is expected that significant damage has occurred," Grossi said, referring to the US attack on Fordow. He added that at this point, no one, not even the IAEA, is able to fully assess the damage to the nuclear facility. The Pentagon said on Sunday that the US attacks had destroyed Iran's nuclear program.
Regarding the other two facilities that the US attacked over the weekend, Grossi said that several buildings were hit in Isfahan and that the US strikes hit uranium enrichment facilities in Natanz. The IAEA said on Sunday that it had not recorded increased radiation levels in the vicinity of these facilities after the US strikes. Grossi reiterated today that IAEA inspectors are ready to inspect these facilities as soon as Tehran agrees.
An Iranian official said the enriched uranium had been moved elsewhere before the US strikes. The IAEA chief told AFP that Tehran had sent him a letter on June 13, the day the Israeli attacks on Iran began, indicating the introduction of special measures to protect nuclear facilities and material.
At the start of an extraordinary meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors in Vienna, Grossi also warned that the nuclear non-proliferation system, which has existed for more than half a century, is at risk of collapse due to a military conflict over Iran's nuclear program.
"There is still a path to diplomacy... we must embark on it. Otherwise, violence and destruction could reach unimaginable levels and the nuclear non-proliferation regime, which has been the foundation of international security for more than half a century, could collapse," Grossi warned, referring to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, signed in 1968. Moščicka-Dendys said that the Polish embassy in Israel is operating in a limited mode."Due to the current situation, it is not performing some consular functions, such as visa or legal services," she specified.
It focuses primarily on helping Polish citizens and ensuring their safety. It also appealed to citizens not to travel to risk areas in the Middle East, including Israel, Iran, Iraq, Yemen and Jordan. (TASR)

Pakistan criticizes Trump for bombing Iran, previously said he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.
This came less than 24 hours after Pakistan announced that it would nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in easing tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi.
This is reported by the AP agency.
Relations between Pakistan and India deteriorated sharply in April after a terrorist attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir. The two nuclear powers came close to war, but a series of mutual attacks was followed by a ceasefire as a result of intensive diplomacy led by the United States, the AP recalls.
"The Government of Pakistan has decided to officially recommend President Donald J. Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for his decisive diplomatic intervention and the leadership role he played during the recent India-Pakistan crisis," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on the social media platform X on Saturday evening.
On Sunday, Pakistan strongly criticized the US attacks on Iran, calling them a"serious violation of international law" and the statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in a phone call with Iranian President Massoud Peshmerga, expressed concern that facilities under IAEA supervision were also targeted in the attacks.

Israel is attacking targets associated with the Iranian regime and government in central Tehran, Defense Minister Kac announced.
"The Israeli army is currently attacking regime targets and the repressive authorities in central Tehran with unprecedented force," said Yisrael Katz.

He said that every rocket fired against Israeli territory would be met with harsh punishment and airstrikes would continue with full intensity.
"We will continue to defend our country and defeat the enemy until we achieve all war goals," Kac added.
According to Al Jazeera, the attack targeted Tehran and the nearby city of Karaj. Smoke billowed from the affected areas in the capital. Iranian state television interrupted live broadcasts for several minutes after a technical building serving several channels was hit.

The Iranian armed forces have warned the United States of serious consequences for its attacks on Tehran's nuclear facilities.
Iran already announced retaliatory measures and possible attacks against US bases in the region on Sunday, AFP reports.

Iran's nuclear facilities suffered massive damage in the US attack, although an assessment of the strike is still ongoing, Trump announced.
"The greatest damage occurred deep underground. A black hole," the White House chief wrote.
US defense officials said they were still assessing the damage from the attacks. Iran has not yet provided details, nor has it offered further details about the Israeli strikes.
An analysis of satellite imagery by the Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security shows that Iran likely filled tunnels with soil at its Isfahan nuclear facility before the US strikes.
The images, according to the institute, show trucks dumping soil into tunnels at the facility, with the attacks reportedly targeting tunnel entrances."At least three of the four tunnel entrances have collapsed... the condition of the fourth is unknown," the institute said.
The AP reports that Iran took this step likely to protect the facilities from airstrikes. Tehran is believed to have similarly protected the tunnels of the Fordo nuclear facility.
According to the Institute for Science and International Security, the strike on Isfahan likely destroyed a uranium enrichment facility.

Australia supports US attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Both Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong have called for de-escalation and a return to a diplomatic resolution to this conflict.
"The world has long agreed that Iran cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon, and we support steps to prevent that," Albanese told reporters in Canberra on Monday.
He stressed that there is"clear information" that Tehran possesses uranium enriched to up to 60 percent.
According to Albanese,"there is no other explanation for reaching 60 percent than engaging in a program that is not focused on civilian nuclear energy."
Minister Wong also expressed US support for the attack on Iran on Monday, calling for a return to a diplomatic solution."We support steps that prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon," she told Nine television.
"We know what the UN nuclear watchdog has confirmed... and that is that Iran is enriching uranium to near military-grade levels, enough to produce several nuclear weapons," the minister continued, calling for"de-escalation and diplomacy."
Australia closed its embassy in Tehran on Friday after Wong's conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Reuters reported that there are nearly 3,000 Australians in Iran, with about 1,300 trying to leave the country. The agency added that Australia has sent two planes to the Middle East to help evacuate civilians.
The US carried out attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities on Sunday night. They joined Tehran's conflict with Israel, which launched its operations against Iran on June 13 with the declared aim of preventing it from producing nuclear weapons. Iran has declared that the United States has decided to destroy diplomacy by attacking the country's nuclear program.
The Iranian military will decide on the timing, nature and extent of the appropriate response, the AP reported.
"We will take all measures that are necessary," Iran's UN ambassador, Amir Saeed Iravani, told an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, called at Tehran's request after the US intervened in the Israeli-Iranian conflict by striking three nuclear sites in the Islamic republic.
"The United States, a permanent member of this council... has once again resorted to illegal force, waging war against my country, under the fabricated and absurd pretext of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons," Iravani said. He accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of having managed to lead US President Donald Trump to drag the US into"another costly and unjustified war."
Iravani called the US and Israeli attacks against his country a violation of international law. He also stated that the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) had been turned into a political weapon and, instead of guaranteeing the right to peaceful nuclear energy, had been misused as a pretext for aggression.
Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon praised the US for its action against Iran."This is what the last line of defense looks like when all else fails," he said, accusing Iran of using negotiations over its nuclear program to buy time to build missiles and enrich uranium.
"The price of inaction would be catastrophic. A nuclear Iran would be a death sentence for you as much as it would be for us," Danon told the Security Council.

Chinese Ambassador Fu Cong said that peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved through military force."Diplomatic means to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue have not been exhausted, and there is still hope for a peaceful solution," he said.
But acting US ambassador Dorothy Shea said the time had come for Washington to act decisively, saying the UN Security Council should call on Iran to abandon its efforts to destroy Israel and end its pursuit of nuclear weapons.
Russian Ambassador Vasily Nebenzia referred to US claims from 2003 about Iraq's stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons."We are being asked again to believe US fairy tales, to once again inflict suffering on millions of people living in the Middle East," he said, according to Reuters. (TASR)

Trump has indicated an interest in regime change in Iran. Several officials in his administration have rejected such a goal of the attacks.
This was reported by AFP and AP.
"It is not politically correct to use the term regime change, but if the current Iranian regime cannot MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why can't there be regime change?" Trump wrote on his social media account. He also added the acronym MIGA (Make Iran Great Again).

His statement appears to contradict what US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said at a press conference on Sunday morning, in which he spoke about the bombing of three Iranian nuclear complexes last night.
"This mission was not and is not about regime change," Hegseth said.
The Trump administration has made several threatening statements, including calls for a resumption of talks between Washington and Tehran on Iran's nuclear program, making it difficult to get a clear picture of whether the White House chief is simply provoking an adversary or using provocative language that could widen the conflict between Israel and Iran.
Until Trump's latest status, his vice president, Pentagon chief, top military adviser, and secretary of state have been sending a coordinated message of belief that the consequences of a strike on Iran would be manageable and that Tehran's lack of military potential would force it to return to the negotiating table.
Hegseth said the US was"not seeking war" with Iran, while Vice President J.D. Vance said the US strikes had given Tehran the opportunity to return to talks with Washington. (TASR)

Craters are visible at Iran's underground Fordo nuclear facility, said the head of nuclear inspectors Grossi.
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency spoke via video conference to the UN Security Council.
The craters at the Fordo facility confirm that the United States used bombs to destroy such facilities. However, he noted that no one can yet assess the damage underground.
Grossi also reported visible damage to other nuclear complexes in Isfahan and Natanz. Iran, he said, had informed the agency that there had been no increase in radiation around any of the three facilities.
Grossi added that armed attacks on nuclear facilities should never occur and could lead to the release of radioactivity with serious consequences within the attacked states and beyond their borders.
Iran has requested a Security Council meeting on the US attacks.
Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said in a statement that the US and Israel do not deserve condemnation, but recognition and gratitude for making the world a safer place.
Russia, China and Pakistan have submitted a draft resolution to the Security Council calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Middle East.
It is unclear when they will vote on it, but diplomats say council members are expected to submit their statements by Monday evening.
The US, which has veto power in the UN Security Council, is likely to oppose such a resolution, which also condemns attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities but does not mention the United States or Israel.
