KOMPAS.com – Australian media revealed the identity of one of the perpetrators of the Bondi Beach shooting which killed 15 people during a Jewish community celebration in one of the beach areas in Sydney, Sunday (14/12/2025).

Australia's public broadcaster, ABC, reported that one of the suspects in the shooting was named as Naveed Akram, a man from Sydney's southeastern suburb of Bonnyrigg.

The information was conveyed by quoting an official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Father and son, 1 dead

Police said one of the two perpetrators died at the scene, while the other suffered critical injuries and was rushed to hospital.

According to the ABC report, until now, it has not been confirmed whether Naveed Akram was the perpetrator who died or is still being treated.

Following the incident, police also searched the house suspected of belonging to the perpetrator.

The raid was reported by the ABC and a number of other local Australian media outlets.

Meanwhile, a few moments later, the New South Wales police revealed that the two perpetrators of the Bondi Beach shooting in Australia were father and son.

New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon said the 50-year-old father had died, while his 24-year-old son was still receiving treatment in hospital.
