Trump's Peace Plan Development

The EU's leading politicians are standing up for the EU's interests more strongly than before. António Costa, the President of the European Council - while praising Trump's peace plan for Ukraine presented last week - said after the EU negotiations on Monday morning that decisions on matters directly affecting the EU can only be made with the involvement and full agreement of Europeans.

Such issues include sanctions against Russia or the use of frozen Russian assets. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, emphasized that the peace plan should be further considered based on the principle that Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty must be respected, and Kiev must be given the right to control the country's fate.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also expressed a similar opinion, saying that several points in Trump's proposals were unacceptable.

– said Tusk. He added that the EU will not agree to limit the size and equipment of the Ukrainian army.
