Defrin made a statement regarding the ceasefire after it came into effect in Gaza.
The spokesman claimed that they did not want to live in a situation where Hamas maintained its dominance in the Gaza Strip and threatened,"If the problem is solved through negotiations, there is no problem, otherwise we will continue to fight."
‘THEY WILL BE RELEASED IN 72 HOURS’
Defrin pointed out that after the ceasefire was announced to come into effect at 12:00, the time period in which Hamas would begin releasing prisoners in Gaza had begun, and that the Israeli prisoners would be released within 72 hours.
Defrin noted that 914 Israeli soldiers, whose names were allowed to be disclosed, died in the past two years and that they paid a"heavy price."
WHAT HAPPENED?
US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas approved the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan during ongoing negotiations in Egypt.
While the agreement was being signed in Egypt, where negotiations were taking place, the agreement came into effect with the approval of the Israeli government.
It was announced that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect at 12:00, following the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the"yellow line" as specified in the agreement.
