Ukraine's state-funded news organization"Freedom" confirmed that its team of journalists was hit by a Russian drone "Lancet". The television crew was in a car at a gas station in Kramatorsk at the time.

Journalist Olena Gramova, 43, and journalist Evgeny Karmazin, 33, were killed. Reporter Oleksandr Kolychev was injured and is hospitalized.

Since Russia's re-invasion of Ukraine in 2022, several journalists covering the war have been killed, but the exact number is unknown.

Earlier this month, French photojournalist Antoni Lalican was killed in a drone attack in the Donetsk region.

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) reported that Lalikans is the 14th journalist killed by the Russian army, while UNESCO estimates that he is at least the 23rd media worker killed on both sides of the front line.

Among those killed is AFP news agency video journalist Arman Soldin, who was killed in a rocket attack in 2023.
