Three new Diamond DA40NG and DA42-VI training aircraft have joined the Royal Moroccan Air Force's training fleet. They are used to train Royal Air Maroc pilots, according to the Far Maroc forum on Facebook.
The FRA fleet comprises 15 Diamond DA40NG Diamond Stars and 8 Diamond DA42-VI Twin Stars. However, the accident involving CN-PLO, serial number 42.N469, on November 21, 2024, reduces the number of aircraft in service to 7, as noted by the FAR Maroc forum. The Diamond DA40NG Diamond Star is a light single-engine aircraft that has established itself as one of the best training aircraft in its class. Its composite airframe provides it with great robustness and aerodynamic efficiency, appreciated by both instructors and students.
The Diamond DA42-VI Twin Star occupies a unique place in the training path, marking the transition to multi-engine piloting. Its lightweight composite structure, refined design, and two Austro Engines allow it to offer handling characteristics similar to those of heavier aircraft, while maintaining a high degree of forgiveness for learning.
Its fully digital cockpit replicates a professional environment and invites cadets to manage more complex procedures, from engine synchronization to approaches in degraded conditions.
