US President Donald Trump called an emergency meeting with top officials regarding the Iranian attacks on US bases in Iraq and Qatar, reports Fox News.
Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegsett, US Army Chief of Staff Dan Kane and other officials from the White House Crisis Room are monitoring developments in the Middle East, the White House announced today.
"The White House and the Department of Defense are aware of and are closely monitoring potential threats to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar," said a senior White House official, according to NBC News.
The Iranian military announced earlier today that it had targeted US military bases in Qatar and Iraq, while Qatar announced that the missiles had been intercepted.
American media reported that at least 10 rockets were fired at the base in Qatar and one at the base in Iraq.
