The provincial directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in Safi announced the suspension of classes in all schools in the province for a period of three days, due to bad weather.

In a statement, the Management specifies that this precautionary measure was taken in consultation with the provincial authorities and concerns Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

This suspension comes in response to weather alerts issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology and aims to guarantee the safety of students, as well as teaching and administrative staff, in the face of the risks posed by adverse weather conditions. The Directorate also indicates that it has coordinated with school principals to activate local monitoring units, strengthen coordination with all stakeholders and local authorities, and implement all necessary preventative measures, while continuously monitoring the weather alerts.

In addition, two primary schools were affected by flooding, with no casualties reported, following the exceptionally heavy rainfall recorded in the province yesterday, Sunday, December 14.
