US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will meet with Ukrainian officials in Florida tomorrow, a senior US official told Reuters, after a Ukrainian delegation traveled to the US to continue talks on an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, has been appointed as the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced earlier today.
On platform X, Zelensky stated that Ukrainian negotiators"are on the way to the USA to end the war".
The delegation includes the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Oleg Ivashchenko, the chief of the General Staff Andrey Gnatov, the adviser to the Cabinet of the President of Ukraine, Oleksandr Bevz, the first deputy minister of foreign affairs Sergey Kislita, the first deputy secretary of the Council for National Security and Defense Yevhen Ostryansky, the deputy head of the Security Service Alexander Poklad and the deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Vadim Skibytsky, reported Union.
They will participate in negotiations with the US and other international partners, as well as with representatives of the Russian Federation.
Zelenski pointed out that the main task of the delegation is to"quickly and meaningfully define the steps to end the war". He emphasized the constructive cooperation with the United States of America and the expectation of finalizing the meetings in the USA.
The delegation was formed after the publication of the draft"peace plan" of 28 points, which caused reactions in Moscow, while the previous head of the negotiating team, Andrij Jermak, resigned yesterday.
