In his first statements after the polls closed, Interior Minister Armando Benedetti criticized the Registry's organization of the Historic Pact referendum. The criticisms centered on the reduction of voting tables, the relocation of some stations, and the lack of electoral materials.

"There have been many problems that I've never seen before," the minister declared from the unified command post. Benedetti complained that"they've reduced the number of polling stations and tables in several areas of the country."

Along these lines, he noted:"There was no electoral material for voting; that had never happened before, and it leaves much to be desired with the organization that should have been done." This is not entirely true, as in previous elections it has been reported that ballots have run out in some places, and this is a distribution issue. While in some areas there was little voting, in others the estimates were exceeded, resulting in a shortage of material.

"This consultation was very important for this coalition," Benedetti declared. The minister also directed his criticism at the National Electoral Council (CNE), which, according to the official,"refused to address the issues of the Historic Pact."

In that sense, he dared to say that"one could say that there is sabotage, by whom, we will have to wait and see with respect to the elections." However, the Registry defended the organization of the election day and recalled that both the location of the booths and the number of ballots printed were under agreement of the Historical Pact.

For his part, Defense Minister Pedro Sánchez offered a reassuring message:"Today we deployed our entire public forces for the elections, 109,000 men." Sánchez emphasized that these are the 19th elections of the year and that there have been no major incidents.

According to the Ombudsman's Office, six incidents were reported across the country, the most serious of which occurred in the southern part of Bolívar, in the municipality of Arjona. In the town of La Rocha, all election materials were burned in protest of the lack of paving.
