President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that our country is preparing for the upcoming winter season import more gas from other countries.

As an UNIAN correspondent reports, Zelensky said this at a joint press conference with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas in Kyiv. In particular, the head of state was asked how Ukraine plans to get through the winter and what Ukraine needs from the EU in terms of the difficult situation in the energy sector due to Russian air attacks.

As Zelensky noted, Ukraine has already used certain opportunities and assistance in past winter seasons, when problems arose in the energy sector.

He noted that Russia is attacking gas storage facilities, gas infrastructure, and water supply facilities.

"So, we have already started talking about gas imports. We have an estimate of what we will need. But, mostly, it's about money. Today, gas is not a problem. The problem is to have enough money, sufficient financing for this gas," Zelenskyy emphasized.

As the head of state noted, there is an understanding of where gas can be bought and what price is offered. At the same time, according to him, some partners of Ukraine do not charge for gas, but carry out deliveries. This includes Norway or some EU member states.

"We are also counting on them," Zelenskyy said.

The president also added that some Middle Eastern countries may be involved in this issue.

"We used our relationship last winter," he explained.

At the same time, the President of Ukraine assures that the issue of funds will be resolved.
