The spokeswoman of the White House stated that the plan is balanced and favorable for both Russia and Ukraine

The details of US President Donald Trump's 28-point peace plan, which was handed over to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky yesterday in Kyiv, have now been revealed. The proposal states that Ukraine would have to make huge concessions in order to end the war that has been going on for almost four years. The worst scenario would be to give up a territory that is 10.5 times bigger than Kosovo.

Zelensky is expected to speak with Trump soon about the peace plan, which unnamed sources in the"Financial Times" described as "extremely favorable to (Russian President) Vladimir Putin".

However, White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt rejected claims that the proposal requires Kiev to make major concessions to Moscow.

- It is a good plan for both Russia and Ukraine, and we believe it should be acceptable to both sides - she said at the press conference.

Still, it is undeniable that the plan gives Moscow unprecedented political power in Ukraine, while leaving Kyiv vulnerable to future aggression and limiting its defense capabilities.

Ono što izaziva posebnu bojazan jeste da bi Krim, poluostrvo koje je Vladimir Putin anektirao 2014, bio priznat kao ruska teritorija u međunarodnim krugovima, zajedno sa oblastima u Donbasu

One of the most controversial points, besides the renunciation of its own territory, which is controlled by Russia, is the ban on Ukraine seeking membership in the NATO alliance. The reduction in the number of Ukrainian soldiers from the current 900,000 to 600,000, as well as a ban on the deployment of NATO troops from the so-called"coalition of the willing", led by Great Britain, on Ukrainian territory was also stated there.

What causes particular fear is that Crimea, a peninsula that Vladimir Putin annexed in 2014, would be recognized as Russian territory in international circles, together with the areas in Donbass - Donetsk and Lugansk, writes the British newspaper"Daily Mail".

Russians control 19 percent of Ukrainian territory

On maps tracking Russian-occupied territories in Ukraine, including the Deep State map, a Ukrainian battlefield mapping project, the parts of Ukraine that Russia currently controls or claims to have annexed are marked in dark and light red:

The total area of those territories (rough estimate used internationally) is about: 19 percent of the territory of Ukraine, which is about 114,674 square kilometers, rounded about 115,000. As"Kiev Indipendenet" previously wrote, Russia occupied approximately 19 percent of Ukrainian territory, including Crimea.

In comparison with the Serbian autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija, it is 10,887 square kilometers, rounded about 11,000 kilometers of the territory of Kosovo.

What if Ukraine loses a small part of its territory

If the question about the loss of Ukrainian territory refers to"how much Ukraine would have to give up", the estimates are slightly different. Of course, we cannot predict politically, but we can mathematically compare occupied Ukrainian territories with Kosovo.

If Ukraine ever accepts the loss of only Crimea, whose area is 27,000 square kilometers, it would lose a territory two and a half times larger than Kosovo.

Ako se računa celokupna sada okupirana teritorija, Ukrajina bi izgubila bi površinu koja je 10 i po puta veća od Kosova

If the entire currently occupied territory - about 114,674 square kilometers - is counted, it would lose an area that is 10 and a half times larger than Kosovo.

If it were to lose only parts of Donbass (without Crimea) - that is, the occupied Donetsk and Lugansk regions, the total area of which is 90,000 square kilometers - Ukraine would lose a territory that is eight times larger than Kosovo.
