Snowfall and heavy rain: orange alert this weekend in several regions of Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology announces that snowfall as well as heavy, sometimes stormy, rain are expected from today, Friday, until the day after tomorrow, Sunday, in several regions of the Kingdom.

The Directorate specified in an orange-level alert bulletin that snowfall of 30 to 50 cm is expected (above 1,700 meters) in the provinces and prefectures of Midelt, Boulemane, Ouarzazate, and Tinghir, and 10 to 30 cm in the provinces and prefectures of Ifrane, Khénifra, Béni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz, and Taroudant. This snowfall is expected from noon on Friday until 6:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The same source added that heavy, sometimes stormy rains (25 to 35 mm) are also expected in the provinces and prefectures of Essaouira, Inzegane-Aït Melloul, Agadir-Ida Outanane, Chtouka Aït Baha, Tiznit, Sidi Ifni, Guelmim, Tan-Tan and Tarfaya, from this Friday at noon until tomorrow Saturday at six o'clock in the morning.

The same phenomenon (25 to 50 mm) is also expected in the provinces and prefectures of Figuig, Boulemane, Errachidia, Zagora, Tinghir, Tata and Midelt, from midnight Saturday until Saturday at 6 p.m., as well as (25 to 35 mm) in the provinces and prefectures of M’diq-Fnideq, Fahs-Anjra, Tanger-Assilah and Tétouan, from midnight Saturday until Saturday noon.
