With over 1.3 million votes in this Sunday's referendum, Senator Iván Cepeda became the Historic Pact candidate for the Casa de Nariño. He asked the left to join forces to win in the broad front in March and in the first round of the presidential elections.
“The Historic Pact is, without a doubt, the largest and most powerful political force in Colombia. We have demonstrated that we are a force that is not afraid of democracy,” Cepeda said in his acceptance speech, which he gave from the headquarters of the Democratic Pole party in Bogotá.
