Russian Military Attacks on Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on the international community and the democratic world not to turn a blind eye to the atrocities committed by Russia.

In a message published on X on Thursday, the Kiev leader accused Moscow of"wanting to destroy everything" and called for additional sanctions on Russia: "We count on America, Europe and the G7 countries not to ignore Moscow's intention to destroy everything. New steps are needed to increase pressure on Russia's oil and gas industry, on its financial system and through secondary sanctions against those who finance this war."

Among the victims are children

The call comes after a night of terror: Russia launched over 650 kamikaze drones and over 50 missiles, including ballistic and aeroballistic, in a coordinated attack on Ukraine. Civilian targets and energy infrastructure were hit in several regions: Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Cherkasy, Lviv and Kyiv.

The provisional toll is at least two dead and dozens injured, including five children. In Zaporizhzhia, a student dormitory was destroyed, and in Ladyzhyn, a seven-year-old boy is struggling for life. According to regional authorities, a girl of the same age, seriously injured in the airstrike, died on Thursday in a hospital in Vinnytsia. Ukrainian authorities are struggling to restore power and water supplies to the affected regions.

Kiev's desperate appeal to the world

As rescue teams continue to search for survivors under the rubble, Zelensky again called on the international community not to leave Ukraine alone in a war that is"not just for territory, but for the right to live."

"Russia continues the terrorist war against life itself," the Ukrainian leader wrote, adding that every attack on civilians must be turned against Moscow through concrete sanctions and total isolation.
