"I used a hot iron. Just curious... It was a soldering iron," Bolsonaro says in the video, when questioned by a security agent about what material was used to damage the equipment.

According to Bolsonaro, he did not try to break the ankle monitor bracelet.

Bolsonaro was arrested on Saturday morning. In a statement, the Federal Police reported that they executed a preventive arrest warrant in compliance with a decision by the Supreme Federal Court (STF). In the decision, Justice Alexandre de Moraes of the STF stated that a scheduled meeting of his supporters could cause unrest and even facilitate"a possible escape attempt by the defendant." An attempt to tamper with his electronic ankle monitor was also verified. Bolsonaro was sentenced in September to more than 27 years for leading the coup plot.
