RIYADH: The Ministry of Culture is taking part in the 10th “Made Here” fair, to be held from Dec. 5-7 in the Old Customs Building in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica.

The event marks the ministry’s first international participation in the fair, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.

It aims to introduce the Costa Rican public to the depth of Saudi culture, its global heritage sites and its long-preserved intangible traditions.

The participation highlights the Year of Handicrafts 2025 initiative as a cultural heritage program that reflects human creativity.

Informational material will be presented to familiarize visitors with the initiative and raise awareness of the importance of traditional crafts.

The Saudi pavilion will feature interactive content showcasing the Kingdom’s UNESCO World Heritage sites and its intangible cultural heritage elements listed on UNESCO’s Representative List.

Saudi craftspeople will also be present to engage with visitors directly and demonstrate key traditional crafts, including bisht weaving, pottery and Arabic calligraphy.

Meanwhile, Saudi Artisanal Co., a subsidiary of the Ministry of Culture, is taking part in Artigiano in Fiera 2025 in Milan, Italy, from Dec. 6-14.

Its presence supports the Year of Handicrafts, which highlights Saudi Arabia’s rich craft heritage, empowers artisans to access new markets, and fosters international cultural and economic cooperation.

The company’s pavilion will feature handcrafted products that blend traditional techniques with contemporary designs, highlighting the creativity of Saudi artisans and connecting them to international markets.

Artigiano in Fiera attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors and traditional craft enthusiasts from around the world each year, presenting a strategic opportunity to showcase Saudi craftsmanship and introduce the Kingdom’s authentic products at a prestigious international event.
