Odesa deserves greater protection, and this can be done in the format of a military administration.

About this in the evening video message said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who noted that the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, was present at the report today.

"I thank the Service for its strong work in protecting Ukraine and countering Russian spy networks. And we also talked about the situation in frontline communities and in the south of our country, in particular in Odessa," he said.

The Head of State emphasized that Odesa"deserves greater protection and greater support":

"This can be done in the format of a military administration - too many security issues in Odessa have remained without a proper answer for too long. All effective decisions will be made. I will appoint the head of the military administration in the near future," Zelenskyy said.

The situation around Trukhanov

As UNIAN reported, earlier Zelensky announced the decision regarding a number of individuals who have been confirmed to have Russian citizenship. Among them is the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov.

Activists asked Trukhanov if he was going to appeal this decision, to which he replied that he was, and assured that he was not going to leave Ukraine.

At the same time, the SBU noted that Trukhanov has a valid Russian passport and had a Russian internal passport.
