Speaking at his daily press briefing, UN Secretary-General Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said,"I can say that we are seriously concerned about the Israeli attack on a residential area south of Beirut."

'OBSERVE THE CEASE-FIRE' CALL
Following the Israeli attack, Dujarric called for restraint, saying, “We remind the parties that civilians and civilian areas must not be targeted.” Emphasizing that Lebanon’s “territorial integrity and sovereignty” must be respected, Dujarric called on regional actors to comply with the ceasefire agreement that entered into force on November 27, 2024. Five people were killed and 28 injured in the airstrike carried out by the Israeli army on the Dahiyeh region south of the Lebanese capital Beirut in violation of the ceasefire on November 23. Hezbollah announced in a statement that the leader of its military wing, Heytham Ali Tabatabai, and four of its members were killed in the attack.
ISRAEL’S ATTACKS AND OCCUPATION CONTINUE
Israel launched an attack on Lebanon in October 2023, escalating into a full-scale war in September 2024. More than 4,000 people were killed and approximately 17,000 were injured. Despite the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel reached on November 27, 2024, Israel has reportedly violated it thousands of times.

331 PEOPLE DIED IN THE ATTACKS
While Israel still occupies the five hills it captured in Lebanon after October 8, 2023, it also maintains its presence in some areas it has held for decades. The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 331 people were killed and 945 injured in the attacks carried out by Israel, which violated the ceasefire, on Lebanon between November 27, 2024, and November 20, 2025.
